Level 3 Effective Coaching Module Overview

The Level 3 Certificate in Effective Coaching is made up of three units, which combine coaching theory with practical application.

Unit 300: Understanding Good Practice in Coaching within an Organisational Context (3 credits)

This foundational unit explores the principles of effective workplace coaching and develops your core coaching competencies. You’ll learn to navigate ethics and boundaries while building strong coaching relationships in professional settings.

Unit 302: Undertaking an Extended Period of Coaching within an Organisational Context (7 credits)

This practical unit covers advanced coaching techniques and how to manage the entire coaching process. You’ll explore different coaching models and apply them effectively to improve performance and development within your organisation.

Unit 303: Reflecting on Coaching Skills within an Organisational Context (3 credits)

The final unit focuses on evaluating your coaching effectiveness and developing greater self-awareness as a coach. You’ll create a continuous professional development plan and build a personalised coaching toolkit to support your ongoing growth.

 

Assessment Requirements

The Level 3 Certificate in Effective Coaching is assessed through multiple components:

  • You’ll complete a minimum of 12 hours of documented coaching practice with colleagues or team members, demonstrating your application of coaching techniques in workplace scenarios.
  • These assignments assess your theoretical understanding of coaching principles and frameworks, showing your ability to apply knowledge to organisational contexts.
  • Throughout your learning journey, you’ll maintain a reflective journal capturing your development as a coach, insights gained, and areas for improvement.
  • You’ll analyse coaching scenarios and demonstrate your understanding of effective coaching approaches for different situations and challenges.
  • Our practical coaching abilities will be evaluated through observed coaching sessions, giving you valuable feedback on your technique and approach.

 


What are the entry requirements for this course?

While there are no formal entry requirements, you should have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities to engage effectively in coaching conversations and complete assessment requirements.
  •  Access to individuals within your workplace that you can coach during the practical components of the course.
  • Some familiarity with leadership or management principles.
  • A willingness to reflect on your practice and embrace feedback.
